The most popular method is by air but personally we find the overnight train service the most time efficient and cost effective method. But depending on your circumstances there are plenty of ways to get to Tignes. Check out the Getting There section to work out the best method that suits you!
It used to be possible to ski in Tignes all year round, 365 days a year! The main reason it now isn't is because of the lack of Autumn lift pass sales. These days the glacier is only open for 9 months, and if you haven't experienced summer skiing you should! The Grande Motte still remains the highest of all the European skiable Glaciers and so it's hardly surprisingly that it has the best snow record in the Alps to go with it!
The winter seaon runs from the middle of November to May 8th. And due to it's altitude Tignes is one of the most snow sure ski resorts in the world. The past season had one of the best snow falls of recent years.
