For 2009/2010 Dragon Lodge have a new chalet ideally located in the ‘Les Almes’ area of Tignes Le Lac – the most central, vibrant and well serviced of Tignes 4 interconnected villages. The lodge has great south facing views across the slopes and is just a few minutes walk from any number of pistes and lifts, shops, bars, restaurants, nightclubs, supermarket and the new sports centre.
The nearest piste to start/end your day is just a minutes walk from the lodge!
The Observer Travel Magazine:
“A trip to the lodge is all about camaraderie, freedom and the love of the mountains.”
The lodge is situated at 2100m altitude and can therefore be sure of snow from beginning to end of season – first weekend in December right through to May, plus glacier skiing in October and November.
Because the lodge is independently owned & run we have a personal interest in making your holiday the most memorable ever - we’re very proud of our reputation and put great effort into keeping our prices reasonable (starting @ just £199 ½ board) considering our prime position in one of Europe’s few ‘super resorts’.
The lodge has 3 floors:
The main, middle floor, has the spacious living & dining room with a great south facing views over the mountains - the perfect place to start the day with breakfast and a great view of the slopes you’re about to conquer. After a day on the hill come back here to relax and grab some tea freshly made cake - the tea/coffee/drinks facilities are free to use any time for guests.
Also on this floor there's a south facing balcony and sun terrace running the full length of the lodge with great views to get you going in the morning and to relax with a drink in front of after a long day on the slopes.
There’s a log fire, TV/DVD player, movies, stereo with i-pod connection, playstation & games all free to use. There’s also a selection of games, magazines and books as well as free use of our PC and free WIFI access.
This is where you'll enjoy our hearty 3 course evening meals each evening and relax and socialize with your fellow guests, catch up on the tales of the day and make plans for tomorrow...
Finally on this floor is our fully equipped board/ski maintenance room.
The lodge has a total of 9 bedrooms over the 3 floors:
-Rooms 1, 2 & 3 are downstairs, accessed from the main living room, and sleep 2 (double bed) 3 and 4 people respectively. They share a shower room, bathroom (bath, sink & WC) and separate WC. All three rooms were refurbished over the summer. While not having a view room 1 is very spacious, newly decorated and has a double bed - perfect for couples.
Rooms 2 & 3 have south facing windows, are newly redecorated and have bunk and single beds - perfect for small groups or for single guests to share 'bunk room' style with like minded people.
-Rooms 4 to 9 are upstairs and are split into 3 separate apartment style ‘suites' with two rooms each sharing their own extra living room area which are a perfect ‘mini lodge’ area for relaxing before and after riding/skiing, with sofa & table seating for 5 or 6 people. They have their own kitchenette area so can be totally self contained and come complete with TV/DVD/games console/music system etc. as an added bonus to the facilities in the living room (which guests also have access to of course)
There’s also a balcony running the length of this floor with the same great south facing views as downstairs.
From each living room are accessed a twin/double and triple room each (up a short, steep stair case above the living room) and are set-up as follows:
Two of the 2 person rooms have two single beds which can be put together as twins or apart as singles (as you request) and have small windows looking out onto the slopes.
The central 2 person room has no view but does have a double bed so it's a perfect hideaway for couples.
The three triple rooms have a bunk and single bed combo and have great views out over the slopes.
The two rooms above each mini living room share a bathroom with shower, WC and bath.
These 3 'mini lodges' are good to share with like minded guests, or perfect to book out for smaller groups, and of course access to and use of all the lodge's facilities are included as are all 1/2 board and B&B options.
