Legacy of Disruption & Baldface Lodge

Good friend of Tignes Spirit and artistic contributor to our new shop Schoph is currently roaming the US and Canada, showcasing his latest work and taking on comissions for the likes of Lib Tech!

We've been lucky enough to have Schoph paint some of his amazing artwork in various areas of our new shop in Tignes le Lavachet
, earlier in the season. In true form, Scoph turned up with a few vague ideas and then let loose over several evenings to create beautiful colours and shapes framing the huge mountain-filled window upstairs in our hardware area.

Legacy of Disruption - Jackson Hole

Described as, "A show commemorating the Art, Boards and Riders that have come to define the snowboard culture" by the guys at Asymbol, Legacy is a celebration of art within snowboarding and wonderful creativity that the sport inspires.

Based in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Schoph was keen to make the most of the amazing terrain while he was there! The exhibition runs until the the 1st April to make sure you drop in if you're in the area.

To be involved in the Legacy exhibition in Jackson Hole is a dream come true for Schoph whose designs have featured on the top sheet graphics of Lib Tech snowboards. The Tignes Spirit workshop crew have been proud to help Schoph out with repairs and servicing of his own board over the years, particularly his very own graphic-featured Lib Tech board last winter!

Lib Tech cat at Baldface Lodge

Schoph's journey sees him currently stationed at Baldface Lodge, home of Lib Tech and Travis Rice's Ultra Natural freeride competition. Lib Tech have comissioned him to give the Baldface cat (cat-ski) a fresh lick of paint, and add his own individual style to it of course!

Baldface Lodge is a snowboarder founded powder ripping mecca nestled in the Kootenay mountains just a 10 minute helicopter ride from Nelson, BC. Baldface receives 500+ inches of snow every season, and is known for its endless powder with 32,000 acres of rideable terrain (accessible by cat, heli, or snowmobile).

In February of 2012 & 2013 Lib Tech rider Travis Rice hosted the Ultra Natural at Baldface Lodge, the first contest of it’s kind, combining a dreamscape run with built in super-enhanced freestyle features within a freeride backcountry snowboarding setting. As a symbol of Lib Tech’s partnership with Baldface, Lib’s legendary rider and artist Jamie Lynn took his fluid lines to one of the lodge’s snow cats with his classic cat.

Obviously, Schoph is absolutely loving working with such core members of the snowboard community, especially in such a creative way!

Take a look at these lines from Baldface and start booking your trip out there!
