Now that there are so many low cost airlines, probably the most popular method of transport is to travel by plane and with so many bargins now available it can often work out the cheapest way. You can either fly to Geneva, Chambery, Lyon, Grenoble or St Etienne.

There are a number of airlines that fly to these destinations. It is possible to book your ticket months in advance so make use of the cheapest tickets as the prices vary and do increase the closer it gets to the ski season! If you choose to fly, then once you arrive at your specific airport you have four options to decide from in order to complete your journey to Tignes.

  1. Get a transfer by mini bus straight to your apartment in Tignes.
  2. Get a coach to Tignes.
  3. Hire a car and drive yourself.
  4. Catch a train to Bourg St Maurice and then a bus or Taxi to Tignes.

1. Transfer from Airport to Tignes.

Due to increased demand by our clients last year we have now offer transfers from all alpine train stations and airports. Obviously our busiest days are over the weekend so we suggest you book as early as possible. The guaranteed service takes you door to door, from the airport to your apartment in Tignes. We are happy to take bookings for single or return journeys for as many people as you require. We can also arrange transfers to Val d’Isere and other nearby resorts. The aim is to make your journey from the airport as hassle free and as comfortable as we can. All the vehicles are fitted with sound systems including CD players and radios. 2. Coach from airport to Tignes.

The coach takes about 4 hours from Geneva and 3 hours from Lyon. These times are during good weather so the coach is often subject to delays during heavy snow falls. It is advised to book in advance (by phone or online) especially if you are arriving during holiday periods or on Saturdays. Also check time tables carefully to make sure the last bus doesn’t leave before your plane arrives!

3. Hire a car and drive to Tignes.

There are numerous car hire offices at all of the airports, easily located at the arrivals exits. A useful website www.holidayautos.co.uk is a good place to start when checking prices. There are however a number of other companies that you can choose on your arrival at the airport.
