If you decide to make the entire journey by coach this can be a good, cheap option but obviously takes a longer time and is very dependent on the traffic, normally not the chosen route unless on a very tight budget.
However this is only the case if you choose to take the coach door to door. If you use the coach or bus as just part of your journey it can be very efficient and cost effective way of getting from the airport or the train station.

There are a number of companies and ski groups that offer the coach all the way from the UK to Tignes. Some depart from the South West and others go through London.
Coaches will depart London Victoria (other pick up points may be available) every Friday of the month from December 11th 2009.

The coach will depart London Victoria at 3pm on Friday afternoon, you will then cross the channel and travel on through the night for an early arrival into Bourg-Saint-Maurice and Tignes. Your return trip will depart the following Saturday and will arrive back in London in time for your Sunday roast. There are other pickup points are available for your outbound journey.
Coach travel is a great way to visit the fantastic resorts of Tignes and neighboring Val D'Isere. Due to their location, travelling to these resorts often requires a long and expensive airport transfer. Previous guests have also had success using Eurolines others have bought tickets through companies working with National Express although a change of bus is often involved before you arrive in Tignes.
If you make it as far as one of the international airports, coach is a very good option for your continuing journey.
The coach takes about 4 hours from Geneva and 3 hours from Lyon. These times are during good weather and minimal traffic so the coach is often subject to delays during heavy snow falls or weekends and holidays. It is advised to book in advance (by phone or online) especially if you are arriving during holiday periods or on Saturdays. Also check time tables carefully to make sure the last bus doesn’t leave before your plane arrives!
