Tignes Val Claret

Val Claret (2300m) is the highest village in Tignes.

Val Claret is completely self-sufficiant with more shops, restaurants and bars than you could ever need. Nightlife here is considered by many as the best in Tignes with two of the most popular nightclubs just down the road from each other: The Blue Girl and the Melting Pot. A new apres spot, orginally from Val d'Isere, has been tipped to open for the 2018/19 season at the bottom of the pistes too...

Val Claret is set on two levels, which is accessible via lifts. The bottom level lies level with the Funicular (which takes you up to the Grande Motte Glacier) and Tichot chairlift up the Tignes side of the mountain, while the top level is where the Tufs chairlift (over to Val d'Isere) goes from and is the main hub of bars and restaurants.

The village has fantastic ski access, with direct links to the Espace Killy, the Grande Motte glacier and all the Tignes ski area. The lifts within 5 minutes of each other are: Tuffs, Les Lanches, Bollin, Fresse, Tichot (rebuilt in 2007) and the Funicular.

Its proximity to the glacier means it's the only village with direct access to summer and winter skiing. That said, the rest of the resort is extremely well linked by the bus and it only takes 20 minutes to go all around the bus route.

Check out the nightlife sections for our guide to all the best bars and restaurants in the resort.
