FAQs

Can you recommend any of the restaurants on the mountain?

Stopping for a large lunch on the mountain can end up being expensive but although often needed!! We recommend taking a pack lunch and just stopping for a drink. Not only is this less expensive but you won't find you get tired and weighed down by a large meal. If you do decide to stop, one of the best places to go is the Folle Douche, not only for the range of food but also the great party atmosphere, especially on sunny days. Watch out for the bands and DJ's on the roof. The restaurant is at the top of the Semanmille lift and is sign posted on the slopes. There are a number of self-service establishments across the Espace Killy, especially in Tignes. The Panoramique at the top of the Grande Motte funicular does good grilled meats, and also has a restaurant for those who prefer a more relaxed pace at lunch. The Bar-Restaurant de la Grande Motte at the foot of the funicular has good value paninis and snacks, and a large sunny terrace to enjoy the sunshine and the fantastic 'panoramique' views! The Chalet du Bollin, just above Val Claret, has a great range and can be easily reached by skiers and boarders of all standards. There are several little restaurants at Tignes Les Brevieres, of which the most popular is probably La Sachette. La Cordée at Tignes Les Boisses usually has a good ambience and decent food. A favourite with many is the restaurant of L’Arbina, just across from the Aeroski telecabin in Le Lac, which has an excellent sunny terrace. The last restaurant to get the sun in proximity to the resort is the Solase at the top of the Chaudannes lift. Great place to enjoy a beer at the end of you day on the mountain.
