Summer in Tignes... Its about to kick off!

Free passes for the mountain bike park, skiing on the glacier and super good times at the Acroland... what more could you want from a summer holiday?! Tignes has it all this summer...

Tignes and CANYON offer you Bike Park access!

This summer, ride down Tignes Bike Park, which contains 100 kms of trails… Expert or beginner? Adrenaline hunter or curious to discover this booming mountain sport? Get your free lift pass and enjoy this amazing territory!

Your programme: difficult and elite trails for downhill enthusiasts, endurance trails accessible to everyone, cross-country as well as a fun area to practice before taking the plunge to the “big” Bike Park. Don’t miss the opening on 27th June

 

Located in the mountain ranges of Palafour and Tovière, the bike park proposes downhill runs and tracks for beginners as well as experts. Enjoy free access to all trails by the Toviere aeroski and the Palafour ski lift.

The natural ups and downs of Tignes’ landscape makes an ideal playground for all styles of mountain biking: rugged or hilly, grassy slopes suited to downhill runs or gentle slopes for beginners, rare spots such as “doline de gypse” and not forgetting the view!

 

Head to the glacier!

From June 19th to August 29th, 2010, the slopes belong to all who rise early. From 7:15am to 1pm, meet up on the 20 Kilometres of runs at Grande Motte glacier, located at an altitude ranging from 3,000 to 3,456 metres. The glacier features :

- 12 ski lifts

- 1 snowpark

Since March 1993, Perce Neige funicular has offered a lift from the heart of Tignes Val Claret. Located at an altitude of 2,100 metres – at the foot of the 3,000-metre glacier – it transports you to the top in a record time of 7 minutes!

At the glacier, a spectacular sight awaits you! Survey a 360° panorama of all of Savoy and the nearby mountains:

· Mont Pourri

· Ridges of Grande Sassière

· Grande Casse (highest point of La Vanoise: altitude of 3,856 metres)

· Majestic Mont Blanc range (in the distance)

Ski runs are open de 7:15am-1pm daily, June 19th to August 29th, 2010.

Glacier’s snowpark: At an altitude of 3,456 metres, meet up on the glacier with freestylers, pros and amateurs for summer snowboarding and skiing.

Summertime in Tignes also gives you the chance to rub elbows with top freestyle skiers, who take advantage of the glacier snowpark for summer training.

 

 

Acroland - Buckets of fun

Whether a slightly wild at heart novice or a seasoned freestyler, Acroland is sure to send your adrenaline level surging. Expect original freestyle flips and endless fun!

On the shores of Tignes’ Lake, you’ll get a chance to use the latest equipment for even more fun:

- Hot jumping slide: slide down on your back or belly and finish with an acrobatic jump in the lake.

- Lake jumping ramp: on skis, snowboard, BMX, ATB or inline skates, you’ll build your momentum on a 35-metre ramp before attempting a spectacular flip. Freestyle skiing champions train here every summer in the interim period before winter.

- 2-5:30pm July 1-4 & August 23-30 (closed Saturdays)

- 1:30-6pm July 5 to August 22 (closed Saturdays)

- Lake jumping: €16
