Tignes Spirit Kit Review

Each week we've been reviewing a different product from our Tignes Spirit shop or rental fleet, aiming to provide you with the best, unbiased advice for the equipment you should be using this winter.
This week, we've pulled in the big guns. Alliance Snowboarding have been dominating the Espace Killy with superb snowboard instruction for the past five years and definitely know their stuff when it comes to a good shred stick!  That's why Simon from Alliance took a selection of boards with him to Argentina this month, trying out the new range from Endeavour and giving us his highly intuitive feedback...

Words: Simon Cooke

"Alliance have been testing next years Endeavour boards out in Argentina and what wicked boards they are. First up is the High 5, a premium freestyle board, which can handle anything put in its path.

"The most amazing thing is that the High 5 has a 'flat kick technology' which means that the actual edge contact is extended so that you can ride a shorter board and still get the control and edge grip of a much longer board.  Being shorter means that this board spins easier, turns quicker and has a super lively feel.

"It is a very versatile board.  Soft enough to jib yet tech enough to hold an edge if you want to eurocarve some deep grooves in the groomers.  It has a super high quality sintered base which glides over everything from ice, crud, chalk, pow and even volcanic dust. (Yes we have an actual erupting volcano at the moment, occasionally covering the pistes with dust!)

"Top sheet graphics are super cool and the stance widths will suit anyone from new school, skinny stance rail riders to old school fat boys!  Construction quality is great. It has a really solid feel to the board and although I have only been riding it for a week or so, you can tell it’s built to last.

"Prices are super reasonable and backed up with a great warranty just in case something does go wrong.  If you are looking to try something different this season give it a try.  I don’t think you will be disappointed."

The Endeavour High 5 is available to rent or buy from Tignes Spirit this winter.  Head over to Alliance Snowboarding to book your snowboarding lessons in Tignes or Val d'Isere this winter & contact us to reserve/buy your Endeavour High 5 snowboard!  Thanks Simon.. enjoy Argentina!

Nike Vapen sessions 2

As we've already whacked up the best of this winter's ski and snowboard teasers, here is a fresh little taste of Norway to keep you going while you wait for 'The Art of Flight' to download!

The second part of Norwegian Vapen Session has just dropped, with the Nike team riders being stoked they finally have good weather. Gjermund Braaten, Ethan Morgan, Jamie Nicholls, Silje Norendal and the rest of the team were more than happy to stop watching movies and start hitting the kicker at last.

And in case you missed the first episode, it’s right here.

5 trick fridays

Tignes Spirit rider Rich Jonas and his Board Syndicate boys have come up with a rad way to get us all stoked in the run up to the coming winter season.  Each week, one of their crew shows us their top five tricks, so we'll have plenty of things to try over the coming months.

First to strut their steezey stuff was Luke Lightwood and Jake Terry... Keep an eye on our site every Friday as each new episode drops!

Art of flight

There's been quite a hullaballoo about Brain Farm's follow up to 'That's It, That's All' and with the US premiere of 'The Art of Flight' in New York just a couple of days ago, here is the reaction to the film as seen for the first time by a select crew (including Justin Timberlake??!!)

'The Art of Flight' is now available to download on itunes.
