Frostgun Invitational Freeski comp

On the 15th of February the most Prestigious Big Air event in Europe will take place in Val d’Isere - FROSTGUN Invitational 2013!

This year FROSTGUN has been upgraded to Platinum Level on the AFP world Tour, placing it at the same level as X-Games US and the DEW tour. This makes FROSTGUN the first and only single Big Air event in the world to reach Platinum Level!

FROSTGUN will for the first time take place in the heart of the Val d’Isere, at the foot of Face de Bellvarde. For many decades the mythical slope of Face de Bellevarde have seen the best downhill skiers during the Olympics and the World Championships – and now in 2013 it will see the worlds best freestyle skiers compete on the spectacular jump.

Invited Riders

The 25 best riders in the world have been selected and invited from all four corners of the world to compete for AFT points, fame and the massive price pot. James Woods (UK), Kai Mahler (SUI), Russ Henshaw (AUS), Elias Ambühl (SUI) and a lot of the finest riders will all be on the start list for this year’s edition of FROSTGUN Invitational.

As usual, the FROSTGUN jump will be BIG but this year with a twist. Instead of just one landing there will be two, with a big channel in between – a Channel Gap, making it more technical and spectacular.

The designers behind the jump are one of the best teams in the world: "Scandinavian Shapers/SnowConcept". They are very well know for their designs used in The Olympics in Vancouver 2010, Torino 2006, Salt Lake City 2002, Jon Olsson Invitational, The Arctic Challenge and in the 2011 Snowboard World Championships. They will also design the freestyle slopes for The Olympics in Sochi 2014.

FROSTGUN is not just about skiing, a music lineup with huge DJ’s from Holland, Sweden, France, UK and Denmark have been booked to make sure that the week of FROSTGUN will be an unforgettable week.

Tignes Spirit will be there to keep you updated on all the action so stay tuned!
