Snowcamp hits Tignes!

The Snow-Camp crew hit Tignes last week, enjoying rental ski and snowboard equipment from the Tignes Spirit shop and also making the most of some personalised workshop tech sessions with our workshop manager, Kev.

As the UK's only youth charity using skiing, snowboarding and life-skills to support young people, the Snow-Camp charity has a specific aim to get young people out and about, enjoying the snow. Obviously this is something that Tignes Spirit is very keen to promote, so we hooked up with group leader Lara to give the crew some tips on how to look after their equipment.
Lara's feedback from the sessions:

"The group thoroughly enjoyed the workshop session. It was the first time they learnt how to service their equipment and use all the correct tools. It's such an important skill to have, so a massive thanks to Kevin for delivering the sessions!"

The Tignes trip is for members of the Snow-Camp Youth Forum who have all gone over and above for the charity. All members of the trip have gained their snowsport England level 1 and regularly volunteer their time at Snow-Camp teaching new young people to learn to ski and snowboard.

The youth forum are also involved running the personal development Lifeskills sessions and are consulted in key decisions about the charity. Two members out here are youth trustees and sit on Snow-Camp trustee board so that young people are at the heart of the charity.

We thoroughly enjoyed meeting the Snow-Camp crew and look forward to seeing you all again in Tignes very soon!
