What is Tignes snow record like?

It used to be possible to ski in Tignes all year round, 365 days a year! The main reason it now isn't is because of the lack of Autumn lift pass sales. These days the glacier is only open for 9 months, and if you haven't experienced summer skiing in Tignes, you should! The Grande Motte still remains the highest of all the European skiable Glaciers and so it's hardly surprisingly that it has the best snow record in the Alps to go with it!

Due to it's altitude Tignes is one of the most snow sure ski resorts in the world. The winter season runs from the start of November to around May 10th depending on when the weekend falls. Year after year there are loads of fresh tracks to be had in the first week of May!! Contact us and make the most of the end of season deals.

To get an idea of the monthly snowfall in the area take a look at the - Snowfall History of Tignes - article in the In-Depth section.
