Tignes Le Lavachet

Tignes Le Lavachet (2000m) is the lowest of the three main villages but within walking distance of Le Lac (10 mins).

It could be seen as a subsection of Le Lac and is connected with the rest of the resort by three bus stops. During main season the buses run every 7/8 minutes and once an hour throughout the night, which is handy as nightlife in le Lavachet is relatively quiet - although there are a couple of lively bars including Box, Braseros, Queue de Cochon and So Bar.

Le Lavachet does however have its own sense of community, with many seasonnaires choosing to live here. All the bars are popular for seasonnaires and holiday makers alike. Queue de Chochon and Brasero are well worth a look both as bars and restaurants. For a typical French meal and ambience go to La Ferme or Mendikoa. Head to Box bar for brunch on a weekend, or any evening for a friendly drink or casual meal. La Cantine is the place for lunch, or an apres drink in the sun.

Lavachet is completely self sufficient with numerous shops and restaurants. There is a lift pass office, Sherpa supermarket, a ski school office, a bakery, and a cafe and coffee shop, and a pizza place not to mention our own TIGNES SPIRIT SKI HIRE SHOP.

Our nightlife guide will give you an idea of the best places to head in Tignes for a drink or a bite to eat.

To get on the slopes you can either catch a bus to the Le Lac stations / up to Val Claret or just as easy - use either of the 2 chairlifts: Paquis chair will take you up the Val d'Isere side - one lift up and you can ski down to Le Lac or Val Claret. Chaudanne chair will take you up the Tignes side with access to ski "the loop" round to Val Claret, or down to Les Boisses or Les Brevieres.
